How does our gas spring configurator work?
Our gas spring configurator consists of two simple steps. In the first step, you configure the gas spring by selecting the desired mounting parts, force, material, and length. In step 2, you can further refine and order your gas spring.
Step 1 – Configure your gas spring
1.1 Choose the mounting parts
Select the desired mounting parts for both the left and right sides of the gas spring. Do you want a fork, rod end, screw eye, ball joint, or no mounting part at all? Later, you can further refine or expand the mounting parts with brackets and plates.
1.2 Determine the force
Enter the desired force of the gas spring in Newtons (āNā). If you already have a gas spring, you can often find this value on the gas spring itself or on a sticker, such as 600N. If you do not know the force, you cannot proceed because the force is crucial for proper operation. In that case, it might be better to use our calculator to determine the correct gas spring for your application.
1.3 Select the material
Choose a gas spring made of steel or stainless steel. Stainless steel provides advantages in aggressive environments due to its improved corrosion resistance, such as exposure to saltwater.
1.4 Choose the type of gas spring
Are you looking for a gas tension spring or a gas compression spring? A gas tension spring pulls on the lid from above, while a gas compression spring pushes against the lid from below. Most customers choose a gas compression spring.
1.5 Determine the length
Measure the length of your existing gas spring and enter it. Remember to measure from the center of one mounting part to the center of the other mounting part. If you do not have a gas spring, the length depends on your application.

Step 2 – Refine your gas spring
The configurator has now found the best gas spring based on your specifications. You can add it directly to your shopping cart, or you can make further adjustments.
2.1 Adjust the gas spring
Do you want a different gas spring? You can select one in the middle dropdown menu. Pay attention to the stock numbers of the various options; these are indicated in the dropdown. You can also consult a 2D drawing here.
2.2 Choose the right mounting parts
For example, if you selected a screw eye, you can now adjust the type of screw eye or add additional fastenings, such as brackets or plates. Click on the part to view alternatives or open a 2D drawing for more technical details.
2.3 Share your configuration
